DELIVERANCE AND SPIRITUAL WARFARE TIPS

All demons are legalists (which is why Christians should not be). Remember, the name “Satan” means “accuser.” A demon will wait until a person breaks one of the Ten Commandments or any of the other Biblical laws. Once a person has done so, it has the legal right to accuse a person. Now if a person is saved through Jesus Christ, God has a hedge of protection around him, guardian angels if you will, that will defend against demonic oppression that comes as the result of “falling”, sinning through ignorance or as the result of a one – time act of disobedience. But if a person is unsaved, or if the Christian is willfully and persistently rebellious, defying the Word of God, then there will be no hedge. Which will not necessarily mean that demonic possession and oppression will always happen, just that there is the opportunity to do so. Incidentally, a Christian who is legalistic rejects what the Bible says abotut God’s grace and puts his faith in his doctrines, religion, and human efforts rather than in God. So, legalistic Christians are actually more at risk to become oppressed by devils than a great many of the unsaved, especially if a person follows after a doctrine that teaches that he can “lose his salvation” or that his “holiness” or “spiritual gifts” are the result of righteousness attained by works; common teachings in Oneness Pentecostalism and other “holiness or hell” – I call it “their notions of holiness will take you straight to hell” – strands of people who deny the Bible’s teachings of grace and Trinity.
Whatever the demon and however they entered (and here is an excellent resource briefly explaining how they enter), all demons must be cast out of all believers and potential believers in the name and by the blood of Jesus Christ as directed by the Holy Spirit. We also must intercede for believers, unbelievers, groups of people, and the entire Body of Christ by binding these demons from the mind of people and commanding them to loose the will of people by the blood and in the name of Jesus Christ. We must also whether conducting deliverance or performing intercession bind these demons from seeking help from other demons or from principalities or powers in the name of Jesus Christ, and once they are cast out that bind them from entering anyone else in the name of Jesus Christ. After intercession, we must pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ that the people or groups that we interceded for would be led by God to seek deliverance from whoever God would send them to, and that they would have faith and be obedient and heed God’s call. We must also pray and intercede for the deliverance ministers as well in the name of Jesus Christ.
First pray for revelation from the Holy Spirit – Father God in the name of Jesus Christ, please tell me whether this person is being trespassed by a demon or demons or afflicted by them. Please Lord in the name of Jesus Christ inform me which demons are trespassing or afflicting this individual. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Next, rebuke and bind the evil spirit in the name of Jesus Christ – In the name of Jesus Christ, I rebuke you demon of _. In the name of Jesus Christ, I bind you demon of _ from continuing to afflict this person. In the name of Jesus Christ, I bind you demon of _ from seeking help from other demons, powers, principalities, or rulers of darkness, and in the name of Jesus Christ I rebuke and bind all other demons, powers, principalities, or rulers of darkness from trying to help you.
With direct deliverance, command the demon to leave the person – In the name of Jesus Christ and by the blood of Jesus Christ, I command you demon of _ to go from _ right now! In the name of Jesus Christ, you cannot stay in _ demon of _ and you must leave now, by the blood of Jesus Christ! I rebuke you _ in the name of Jesus Christ, and in the name of Jesus Christ I command you to get out of _! (Continue with guidance from the Holy Spirit until God tells you that the demon is gone. The Holy Spirit may tell you that the person being delivered is holding onto the demon or something else that is not of God and therefore allowing the demon to remain; if so the person may need further counseling and prayer to renounce and reject anything that displeases God before the deliverance can proceed).
With intercession, rather than commanding the demon to come out, you must bind the demon until such time that it can be cast out – In the name of Jesus Christ, I bind you demon of _ from controlling or influencing the mind and will of _. In the name of Jesus Christ, I command you demon of _ to loose the will and mind of _.
The next step of intercession is to pray that God would lead the person to seek deliverance – Father God in the name of Jesus Christ, please touch the heart of _ and lead _ to seek deliverance from the demon of _ in the manner that you choose. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Please note that intercession and deliverance can be done for groups of people at once in addition to one at a time. As a matter of fact, Christians should engage in spiritual intercession for friends, acquaintances, their church congregation, and the entire Body of Christ on a regular basis. But the most important thing is to always be led by the Holy Spirit, as the key to successful spiritual warfare is receiving revelation and guidance from God. If you want more information on how to effectively conduct spiritual warfare, first go to the source, the Father himself in the name of his Son Jesus Christ for guidance in the right direction. Ordinarily I would suggest that you then talk to your pastor, but the sad truth is that few pastors are involved in deliverance ministry in any serious way, and a great many are opposed to it, which is yet another reason why God should be your guide. Who knows … God may lead you to inform your pastor on the importance of spiritual warfare and deliverance! If I may suggest a reference, it is the book “Pigs In The Parlor” by Frank and Ida Mae Hammond. It is a great starting point and general guide. May God bless. lead, and guide you in this critical area.
